Boon Companions is a goat club for the residents of mid-Missouri.  Our members include breeders of many types and crosses of goats although our members are mostly focused on dairy goats.  We encourage participation of youth in the goat industry through 4-H and FFA as well as the showmanship competition opportunities we make available at our spring and fall shows.

Boon Companions began in 1996 with a small group of people wishing for their own dairy goat show at the Boone County Fair. After 15 years of talking with the fair board, they had about given up, when the fairboard called them and asked if they would like to have a show. They quickly roped a few more "goat people" in and put on their first show which they paid for themselves. The name for the club came about when filling in the ADGA application for a sanctioned show: "What is the name of your club?" Boon Companion came to mind: a "blessed gift"; a "kindred spirit".

Boon Companions holds two shows each year. The Memorial Day weekend Show-Me Stars show is a doe show and the Labor Day weekend Autumn Romance show is a buck show."
